An awareness class on "Cyber Financial Frauds and Safe Digital Banking Practices" was conducted as part of the RBI Reelathon 2026 campaign. The programme aimed to educate students about the growing threat of cyber-enabled financial frauds and to promote responsible and secure digital financial practices. The session commenced with a welcome address by Mrs. Rasia P A Head of the department Commerce, followed by an introduction to the objectives of RBI Academic Dean, who emphasized the growing importance of cyber awareness in today's digital era. Programme was formally inaugurated by Principal Dr. Ferosh M Basheer. In the inaugural address, he emphasized the increasing prevalence of cyber-enabled financial crimes and the need for greater public awareness to combat such threats. The felicitation was delivered by Vice Principal Mr. Shammas Basheer. The keynote address was delivered by Mr. Varghese M Mathew, Lead Bank Manager, Idukki and Ms. Seena , Centre for Financial Literacy, RBI who provided an insightful overview of the increasing threat of cyber financial frauds in today's digital world. The speaker explained how cybercriminals exploit technology and human vulnerabilities through fraudulent activities such as phishing, UPI scams, QR code frauds, fake investment schemes, OTP frauds, digital arrest scams, and fraudulent loan applications. The programme concluded with a heartfelt vote of Thanks delivered by Azhar Ali K P Student Co coordinator.
